Envisioning our Future

I am pleased to report that the school year is off to a great start! Not only are we focused on making this year an exceptional experience, we also want to make sure CDS continues to thrive well into the future. To that end, I am pleased to announce that our new long range plan entitled “Envisioning our Future” has just been released.

The plan will see us rally our efforts and build future success under four key themes. I look forward to sharing more with you on our progress over the next several years.

For now, information can be found here. Watch for frequent future updates in The Backpack, in other key school communications, and around the School. Our community is greatly indebted to our volunteer Board of Directors for the critical role they have played in the development of this plan.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
