CDS Kilometer Club

Last year, CDS ran the Kilometer Club during the cold, dark winter term. We had a total of 18 people who came out at various times, and who altogether ran or walked a total of 112 kilometers.
This year the Kilometer Club will run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning in the Dome from 7:45 am until 8:15 am.

This is a drop-in club, so any member of the CDS community can come at any time. You may only be able to come one morning a week, or only once in a while, or maybe you can come every day! It’s entirely up to you.

Five times around the inside of the Dome equals one kilometer. We will keep track of the number of kilometers everyone runs and see if we can meet the Cross Canada Challenge, which is to run enough kilometers to go from coast to coast in Canada; the same distance that Terry Fox was planning to run.

We hope to see you at the Kilometer Club! It’s good for personal fitness, a great way to start your day, and it’s fun!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
