Dietary Restrictions and Our New Dining Hall

While healthy eating is at the forefront of all things to do with the food stations in our new Dining Hall, what about those students with severe allergies or intolerances?
On May 12, members from our new food service provider Aramark, along with Head Chef Marcello Marano, set our parents minds at ease with an informative presentation on exactly how they will deal with dietary restrictions.

Please click here for a quick recap of the presentation.

Chef Marcello has an incredible depth of experience with the independent school system, and has been successfully feeding hundreds of students for years. He is ready and able to launch the CDS Original Food Company for ALL our students!

For those parents who were unable to attend, a recording of the presentation will be available next week. Also, look for the interview with Chef Marcello in the Spring 2015 issue of The Link due to arrive in your mailbox next week!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
