New Associate Teacher Role

This year the School added a new aspect of student engagement in the form of the Associate Teacher role.
Associate teachers are fully qualified teachers and although they are just starting their career, they bring a remarkable slate of talents to the School. Our Associates help us in the classrooms, offer extra help, provide additional supervision, as well as add both great energy and expertise to our after-school programs – most notably acting as coaches on many of the competitive teams. The 2012/13 year was our first run with this role and the Associates we brought on were so impactful and talented that many of them will be returning as regular faculty members in the fall.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
