Digging has Begun!

The digging of the foundation for the new Dining Hall and rejuvenated Senior School has begun!

As described in our summer mailing and the website, these changes will alter the drop-off and pick-up routines for all Middle and Senior School students, as well as for students who arrive by bus. While the campus will not be in the pristine shape it typically is for the first day of school (with the exception of the Junior School, which received a nice makeover this summer), this is short term pain for long term gain.

I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we begin an exciting year of change!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
