Junior School Grandparents' Day: Thursday, May 11th

Each spring, The Country Day School hosts Junior School Grandparents' Day. This is a special day at the School for staff, students and grandparents alike! Our very special visitors enjoy classroom visits, lunch and a musical performance by the students of the Junior School.

Grandparents’ Day has become one of the most beloved traditions in the Junior School. The special moments shared between young and old sets this day apart from all others in the calendar year. The anticipation leading up to the day is heartwarming as students write poems, stories and drape our halls with portraits of their loved ones. The concert allows every child to shine and every adult to glow with pride.

Junior School Grandparents' Day will take place on Thursday, May 11th, 2017, and we ask that you please RSVP by April 18th.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
