NEW! Senior School Breakout Week

On Monday morning, we were very excited to introduce our first Senior School Breakout Week to the students in assembly. This will take place from October 2-5, 2017, and is an excellent opportunity to break out of the classroom doors and take our educational journey to all sorts of exciting places.

Students in Grade 9 will all be travelling to Camp Timberlane in Haliburton for four days where they will have the opportunity to get to know one another, challenge themselves and discover things about themselves that they may not already know.

Grades 10-11 will be choosing from a variety of different options for the week that we think will inspire them in all kinds of new ways. Some will involve activities close to home and others will involve travelling further afield.

Grade 12 will be off on their annual trip to explore a variety of different university settings to support them in making their decisions about what comes next after high school. They will start with a day visiting a university in Toronto and then will head off for a 3-day tour either East or West of Toronto to visit key university campuses in Ontario and Quebec.

The students received packages in their homerooms on Tuesday with more details. This is an exciting addition to our program at CDS, and we are confident it will enrich the lives and experiences of our students. There was certainly a buzz in the auditorium on Monday! Further updates will be coming soon.

Land Acknowledgment

CDS wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. For thousands of years, these have been the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We also recognize the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee peoples who also shared this land.  CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for these lands and waters for future generations.
