Complete effort and a chilly match against Pickering College

The CDS Cyclones whirled into Pickering College yesterday to play their second game of the year.

Our team played a complete game - backchecking, forechecking, you name it, we did it!

The passing was crisp, the shots were accurate. When the dust settled, our Cyclones were the victors in a compelling fashion.

William Covello was strong as he got the win, stopping a breakaway to preserve the shutout in net.

The dynamic brother duo of Jace and Lev combined for three goals together, while Vincent, Daniel Di Poce, and Steven all potted their first goals of the season.

Other game highlights from forwards included Rachael’s shot off the post, Gavin’s flashy speed, Sully’s puck control, Nihaal’s continued hustle, and Reid stepping up to fill in at centre!

From the defensive end, highlights included Ethan’s smart play and positioning, and Romeo’s heads-up passing and end-to-end rush with the puck.

The final score was 6-0 for your Cyclones. See you all on the ice this afternoon for practice!

And don’t forget...Forecheck, backcheck, pay cheque!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
