Student Finds a Passion in STEAM Club

Grade 6 student, William Covello, created an entire Breakout EDU experience, a game that consists of keys, boxes and/or mystery items, for the STEAM Club’s last day today.
According to the club’s advisor, Lara Gee, “Not only did William create a theme and the clues, but he shared all his planning with me via a Google doc, checked in several times to talk about it, and came to help get it all set up. AND he designed and created four different key rings in Tinkercad to 3D print for the group when they ‘broke in’!”

The students were incredibly engaged and had an absolute blast.

“I am just so impressed with this student and the incredible experience he created for our students. It was pretty awesome,” said Ms. Gee.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
