Having Fun in the Trees

Last Friday, the Grade 8 students travelled to Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area in Stouffville for a day of treetop trekking and team building activities.
Here they were able to enjoy the outdoors while challenging themselves on numerous levels. After becoming familiar with the harness and safety lines, the students chose from a number of different aerial games or challenges to complete atop the trees.

The highlight of the day for most of the students was the 700 ft Monarch Zip line, and got on the bus to return home with huge smiles on their faces and a sense of accomplishment.

Land Acknowledgment

CDS wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. For thousands of years, these have been the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We also recognize the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee peoples who also shared this land.  CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for these lands and waters for future generations.
