CDS Junior Choir Spreads Holiday Cheer!

The Junior Choir had a busy day Tuesday this week. Thirty-two students, along with Ms. Roszell and Mrs. Curran, travelled to Chartwell Park Place and Chartwell Oak Ridges retirement communities on Yonge Street to spread some holiday cheer.
They performed three 30-minute concerts; singing for a total of an hour and a half! The residents were thrilled to be entertained! At our first stop, we met a WW1 veteran and his wife who have been married for 72 years!

We can’t wait to continue the festivities at the Junior School concert next week. The Junior Choir will be performing in the lobby before each show – so come see us after you drop off your children for the concert.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
