Take Me Outside Day

Today, students in the Junior School participated the Take Me Outside Day initiative. Learning was taken beyond the desk and four walls of the classroom and all classes were encouraged to use the great outdoors as part of their day and engage with our beautiful campus and nature.
Take Me Outside Day this year provided the perfect excuse for teachers to take their students outside and enjoy the crisp, fresh winter air. The goal was to spend as much time outside and every class did a great job!

The reason students participate in Take Me Outside Day is to be close to nature, have fun, be active and stay healthy. It also serves as a reminder that this practice, which includes a break from screen time, should be incorporated into our daily schedule.

Land Acknowledgment

CDS wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. For thousands of years, these have been the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We also recognize the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee peoples who also shared this land.  CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for these lands and waters for future generations.
