Happy International Women's Day!

In honour of the incredible women in our community and around the world, we recognized International Women’s Day this week. Student Council members, Ashley Munro ’21 and Erica Campagna ’21, created this video shown at Senior School Assembly featuring members of our community sharing the names of the women who they find most inspirational.

Ms. Bland followed up by asking Senior School students to think about who they look up to as leaders and role models in their life. She then challenged students to consider when thinking about who their role models are, how they can try and be someone who has a positive influence on others.

Student Council members posted pictures of some of the many women in activism, science and the arts who they find to be inspirational role models on the white board at the base of the Winch Family Learning Stairs and encouraged others to do so too.

Who do you look up to as leaders or role models who have contributed to historical or modern change?

Land Acknowledgment

CDS wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. For thousands of years, these have been the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We also recognize the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee peoples who also shared this land.  CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for these lands and waters for future generations.
