Congratulations to the Class of 2021!

What a fabulous week of celebrations for our Junior, Middle and Senior School graduates!

On Monday evening, our Grade 6 graduates returned to campus for an in-person goodbye before the summer holidays and enjoyed campfires with their friends and teachers in our back acreage.

On Tuesday, our Middle School graduates returned for an on-campus Grade 8 Diploma Celebration to cap the end of their journey and say goodbye to their homeroom teachers. Then families of Grade 6 & 8 students all enjoyed a virtual graduation ceremony yesterday morning, including presentation of awards and the Grade 8 Valedictorian address by Brianna Nichols '25.

The highlight of the week was yesterday’s in-person graduation and livestream event for our Grade 12 Class of 2021 consisting of four mini-ceremonies done by cohort while adhering to strict protocols and safety precautions. With the exception of an unfortunate interruption to the livestream toward the end of the fourth ceremony due to an area internet outage, the six-hour event went off without a hitch. Here is the complete edited version of the Grade 12 Graduation Ceremony, including remarks by Mr. Liggett, Ms. Bland, Board Chair Ms. Karen Adams, and our Grade 12 Valedictorian Stephanie Temovsky '21, to watch and share with family and friends.

Congratulations to all of our graduates!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
