First Senior Vocal ISU

Jenna Romanowich
Last Friday, The Country Day School music department hosted their first Senior Vocal Recital. Students in the Grade 11 & 12 Vocal Program have been working throughout the year to prepare for this exciting Independent Study Unit.
Each student performed two solos and took part in three ensemble numbers. The audience delighted in the professionalism, confidence and talent on display throughout this concert. Ella Ballard '24, Derya Karakul '24, Isabelle Gu '23, Jessica Grossman '24, Avalyn Woods '24 and Avery Tallman '24 wish to thank all of the students, faculty, administration and family members that were able to attend their performance. And a special thank you to Marney Curran for her exceptional piano playing.

The recital was an awesome experience for our singers and a wonderful way to spend a Friday afternoon. Congratulations to all of the performers!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
