Passing Muster

As an independent school that grants credits toward the Ontario High School Graduation Diploma, we are subject to inspection by the Ministry of Education on a biannual basis.
I am happy to report that Ministry Inspectors visited our site in the fall and examined our policies, practices and procedures and found them to be in order. In fact, one of the inspectors reported that she was so impressed with the School that she would consider enrolling her own children!

CDS is also inspected and accredited routinely by the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) through a year-long internal review on the part of the School followed up with a week-long intensive visit by 10-15 members of our professional peer group from other CAIS schools. The Country Day School is committed to maintaining a superior educational experience and these accreditation experiences help ensure we stay true to this pledge.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
