2014 Parent and Student Survey

The results of the 2014 Parent and Student Survey were sent home in The Backpack on October 30. If you have not yet had a chance to review them, I would encourage you to do so. We have presented the highlights, areas in need of attention and improvement, and new school initiatives for both surveys in a six-page brochure available on the featured content page in MYCDS.
As stated in the accompanying letter from our new Board Chair, Paul Jewer, we will use this feedback as input in the development of our next Strategic Plan. One of the many tangible results of the last strategic plan is the Dining Hall and rejuvenated Senior School construction project.

As we prepare to embark on the development of the next five-year plan, we will be engaging the various CDS constituencies (parents, students, staff and alumni) in a series of focus groups as part of the process of developing a clear and focused future direction. An independent consultant has been engaged to recruit and conduct these groups.

Thank you once again for your participation. We look forward to your continued support and engagement as we chart the future direction for The Country Day School.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
