Summer School Course Offerings

CDS Summer School Registration opens on Monday, January 22nd. Please note: Courses can fill up quickly!
It's hard to believe that June is less than six months away! CDS is pleased to offer the following credit courses this summer:
  • Grade 9 Mathematics (MTH1W) (only open to current Grade 8 CDS students and requires minimum A achieved in Grade 8 Math)
  • Grade 10 Academic Principles of Mathematics (MPM2D) (requires minimum 80% achieved in MTH1W)
  • Grade 12 University Advanced Functions (MHF4U) (priority for Grade 11 students, requires minimum 80% achieved in MCR3U) 
  • Grade 12 University English (ENG4U) (prerequisite: ENG3U)
  • Grade 12 University Studies in Literature (ETS4U) (prerequisite: ENG3U)
  • Grade 12 University World Geography (CGU4M) (prerequisite: any university, university/college, or college preparation course in Canadian and world studies, English, or social sciences and humanities, or minimum 90% achieved in CHC2D for current CDS students). Students enrolled in World Geography will participate in local urban-planning excursions which may require the use of public transportation (Go Train, TTC) and some additional travel fees
Summer school classes will run weekdays Wednesday, June 26 to Monday, July 22 (no class on Monday, July 1). Students need to be in attendance ALL days of the course to accommodate the number of Ministry required 110 hours. The exam will take place on the last day of class. Students must have the required prerequisite for the course selected. The course fee is $1500 and includes lunch. It does not include textbooks. Bussing for Summer School is not available.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
