Bunny Visits The Junior School Library

Hillary Hall
Spring is here and our primary students have been delighted to have Nurse Teresa and her pet rabbit, 'Miffy' visit them in the Junior School Library!

Students have been learning all about rabbits, pet care and making connections to fiction and non-fiction books. This bunny is loving the attention with all the gentle pats and special treats shared with him by the JK to grade 2 students.
Our students were amazed to learn that this rabbit's favourite treat is a banana rather than a carrot and that he likes to eat Cheerios too!

They also learned that the rabbit keeps his continuously growing teeth shortened by chewing on a special toy and sometimes even Nurse Teresa's... shoes!

Students found it intriguing to discover that Miffy is not afraid of Nurse Teresa's two dogs and he actually cuddles with them and enjoys sharing their crunchy kibble.  A great big thanks to Nurse Teresa and her adorable pet rabbit for making the time to visit with our students!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
