Celebrating 50 Years

Of Education with Balance

This coming September, CDS will launch its 50th Anniversary year! We plan to host a series of celebratory-themed events through to the 2023 Auction in June. We are excited about this and look forward to sharing more details with you in the near future.

At this time we are looking for a few members of our community (alumni, past and current parents, faculty and staff) to join our 50th Anniversary Planning Committee. Maybe you have a passion for historical archives or are interested in helping to organize decade reunion events? We welcome your ideas and encourage you to join us!

The time commitments vary and can be adjusted to whatever you are able to offer. If you think you might be interested or would like to learn more, please reach out to Tracey Scott at events@cds.on.ca.

Thank you!

Celebrate our History

In 1971, a group of parents in King Township saw a need for a co-ed private school for Grades 1-8 north of Toronto. At the time, the government had begun shutting down its country schools and bussing primary students to the newer and larger regional public elementary schools. These parents envisioned an alternative for their children and set about finding a location for the establishment of The Country Day School.
