Mrs. Charley Butler and her husband, Mr. Gordon Butler, have been CDS parents since 2022. Their son is in the Middle School.
Mrs. Butler is the Chief Pension Officer (Financial Services Executive) for the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. She brings more than 20 years of international leadership experience working for Financial Services organizations in Canada and the UK in customer service, operations and technology roles. Mrs. Butler has expertise in fiduciary responsibility, financial services leadership, pension administration and DE & I. She is also a member of the Board of Home Equity Bank, a Schedule 1 bank providing retirement solutions that allow Canadians to retire in their own home.
Mrs. Butler has her M.B.A. from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management and a LLB, Law Degree from the University of East London.
Land Acknowledgment
The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
