At our 2024 Annual Auction, Head of School John Liggett announced the Dream Together Campaign in support of a new fieldhouse to replace our aging Dome. This year at the 2025 Boots & Bids Auction, he shared our year in review video, which embraced our country theme while showcasing our Dream Together Campaign, followed by an unveiling of a much bigger dream for a spectacular new Athletic Centre.
The new Athletic Centre will be built in two phases. The first phase will include a fieldhouse, signature double gym, spectator lounge, outdoor terrace, and infrastructure, such as washrooms and change rooms. The second phase will include a new fitness centre and several multi-purpose studio rooms for yoga, dance, small gym classes, and many other activities, along with a new home for our General Store. Pending all approvals and permits, we hope to break ground in early 2026.

This 64,000+ sq. ft centre will be transformational for CDS. Not only in its size, measuring larger than the recent Senior and Junior School builds combined, but also by providing marvelous new facilities for our CDS community.
Also of note, Mr. Liggett announced that we have already secured an impressive $19 million in pledges and gifts toward the anticipated $32 million cost of Phase One. We still have a ways to go to achieve our dream but know that our incredible community will step forward to continue to support this opportunity for a truly remarkable new facility. If you would like to find out more about how you can support this dream, or would like more information, please feel free to reach out to us.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
