Ms. Catie Ferguson

Head of Middle/Senior Learning Support
Catie Ferguson's career at CDS is a testament to her versatility and deep commitment to student success. Joining the community in 2009, she immediately took on diverse responsibilities, beginning as a Middle School Guidance Counsellor in Student Services while also teaching in the Physical Education department.
 
Today, Ms. Ferguson holds the concurrent roles of Interim Director of Student Services and Head of Learning Support for the Middle and Senior Schools. Her extensive background in direct student support includes teaching Middle School Guidance and the Senior School Learning Strategies course. She also ensures seamless transitions for students and families across divisions by working closely with the Junior School Resource Team. Catie contributes to the school’s strategic planning as a member of the Risk Management Steering Committee.
 
A driving force behind student engagement, Ms. Ferguson founded CDS' Summer Camp. Her passion for athletics is evident in the broad array of teams she has coached, which includes U13 Boys soccer, U14 Boys basketball, Coed tennis, the varsity ski and snowboard team, senior girls basketball, track and field, and U14 Rugby.
 
Ms. Ferguson earned her B.Ed. from York University. Her ethos as a lifelong learner is exceptional; she has actively sought out professional development every single month of her teaching career, culminating in the completion of the prestigious CAIS Leadership Program.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
