Cross Country is up and running
Another season of X-Country is up and "running" at CDS! With the incredible trails and challenging terrain of the Back 40 offering athletes a training wonderland, this year's Middle School Cyclone team is gearing up for loads of competitive fun.
Runners just completed a fantastic first week of trail runs (with some individuals posting a combined distance of nearly 17km!), and the excitement is growing as our team gels and we work toward our first meet in early October.
Meanwhile, congratulations to our Senior School runners on a fantastic start to the season yesterday at the Harriers Invitational hosted by Trinity College School in Port Hope! Everyone showed tremendous grit conquering Mt. Trinity and represented CDS with great energy and pride.
With just four athletes racing (Vanessa and Sophie will join us for future meets), our athletes represented themselves and their school well against a competitive field. Anthony and Logan got in the first race of their X-Country careers with veterans Addison and Orrick offering sage advise on implementing smart racing strategies. And what perfect weather for the first meet of the season!

Land Acknowledgment
The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories.
