Mr. David Drake

Co-Head of Student Services, Guidance Counsellor & Learning Strategist
David Drake joined CDS in fall 2012 as an Associate Teacher assisting in our Middle and Senior science and math classes and coaching U16 Boys’ hockey and tennis. He holds a BA from the University of Guelph and a B.Ed. from Lakehead University. Mr. Drake quickly assumed a full-time load in math and science in the Middle School and now serves as a Guidance Counsellor and Learning Strategist in the Student Services Centre as well. He previously worked as a Teaching Assistant at Crestwood Preparatory College in Toronto and as a Senior School science teacher at Robert Clack School of Science in England. Mr. Drake has worked with the CDS Summer Camp for the past seven summers, as Co-Director since 2015.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
