This week, the students in 3C had a unique and exciting opportunity to connect with some of our Senior School students. One of CDS's many special aspects is that it spans from JK all the way to Grade 12, giving students of all ages the chance to learn together - and this week, our Grade 3 students fully embraced that experience.
As part of their final project, the Grade 12 History students created virtual museums based on topics they have been studying. The Grade 3 students had the opportunity to visit these exhibits and were paired with Grade 12 students, who proudly presented and explained their projects.

It was wonderful to watch the interactions between some of our younger Junior School students and our oldest Senior School students. The Grade 12 students did an incredible job sharing their knowledge in a way that was engaging and meaningful for the Grade 3s, while the Grade 3 students impressed everyone with their thoughtful questions, curiosity, and enthusiasm.

This memorable experience was a wonderful example of the strong sense of community that exists across all divisions of our school and highlighted the meaningful learning opportunities that come from connecting students of different ages.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
