Tryouts for MS/SS Athletics
Welcome back to another exciting year in the Athletics Department! We're thrilled to kick off the fall season with a wide variety of sports and activities, including:
- Girls' and Boys' Soccer
- Girls' Basketball
- Co-ed Cross Country
- Girls' Field Hockey
- Boys' Volleyball
- NEW this year: Varsity Girls' Flag Football!
We encourage everyone to get involved this season. School sports are a fantastic way to stay active, meet new people, develop your skills, and represent our school with pride.
To help everyone get started, we've included the athletic schedule for the first 2 weeks of the season so you'll know when and where your team tryouts are taking place.
A few important notes:
1. Middle School (U14) Team Tryouts (Grades 7 & 8)
Grade 7 students will be away during the first full week of school. Grade 8 students trying out for U14 teams should still attend the scheduled tryouts, but final team selections will not be made until the following week when the Grade 7 students return. Grade 7 students: no need to worry! You'll have the opportunity to attend tryouts and show your skills once you're back from camp.

2. Senior School Team Tryouts
If you're trying out for a Senior School team, your first tryout will be on Monday, September 14 and will continue Tuesday morning and Wednesday after school. There are no extra-curriculars next Thursday (JS Curriculum Night), so Monday was added this week.

Land Acknowledgment
The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
