Shad Program Introduces students to like-minded friends and a world of possibilities

Over the summer, three CDS students participated in Shad, a month-long summer STEAM and entrepreneurship program that empowers high school students across Canada to explore, collaborate, and create change. Shad alumni have gone on to build companies, lead research, and tackle problems that matter.
Congratulations to Dylan Matsui '27, Sam Gao '28 and Atlas MacDonald '27 for being selected to attend this competitive program. Students are chosen through a competitive process that looks for curiosity, creativity, leadership, and a readiness to stretch beyond the classroom. Dylan, Atlas and Sam clearly made an impression.

We reached out to all three students to hear about their experiences and this is what they had to say: Read more about Shad from Dylan, Atlas and Sam

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
