U14 Girls D1 SOFTBALL captured a CISAA silver last week, defeating Havergal College, 4-2, in the semi-finals before losing to Ridley College in a hard-fought battle, 19-9, in the finals.
U14 Boys SLOW PITCH captured CISAA bronze last week in their 9-4 win against Appleby College!
Sr. Girls D2 SOFTBALL consisted of all Grade 12 students, most who have played together since Grade 9. After years of struggling for numbers, this year Girls Softball proved so popular, there were enough players to field two teams!
Sr. Girls D2B SOFTBALL played their hearts out this season, many trying softball for the first time.
Senior Boys BASEBALL was led by a strong core of Grade 11 athletes this year, and showed real strength on both sides of the game - with consistent pitching and timely hitting.
Sr. Girls RUGBY earned their place in the consolation final and finished third overall in the league. Throughout the season they showed tremendous toughness, teamwork, and pride every time they stepped onto the field.
Sr. Co-Ed BADMINTON team saw several members qualify for the CISAA finals and proudly represent CDS at the championship level.
- Ethan Su '27 finished 4th in Singles 2 respectively
- Nick Zheng '28 finished 8th in Singles 3 respectively
- Max Hekkenberg '27 and Idan Liapis '28 finished 8th in Doubles 2 respectively
U14 Co-Ed BADMINTON saw an incredible turnout this year and a fantastic season! The following athletes competed in CISAA finals as they finished Top 2 in their division:
- Boys Singles 1: CISAA Bronze Medal - William Chen ‘30
- Girls Singles 1: Katherine Wang ‘31
- Girls Doubles 1: Daisy Dai ‘30 & Sara Tian ‘30
- Boys Singles 2: CISAA Silver Medal - Ethan Wang ‘31
- Mixed Doubles 1: CISAA Silver Medal - Kishan Ghosh '30 & Annabella Kwok '30

While the team didn't reclaim their championship title again this year, they proudly secured the Spirit Award for the second year in a row!
Sr. Boys TENNIS
Despite the challenging weather conditions, they showed up consistently and competed with pride and enthusiasm. A special thank you goes to Kiran Chaudhry who provided valuable support when it was needed most.
U16 Girls TENNIS
Fotini Gougoulias came 4th in 1st singles
Mina Matsui and Charlize Bianchi came 3rd in 1st doubles
Lily Bell and Carmen DiGiammarino came 5th in 2nd doubles
U14 Girls TENNIS finished 5th overall at CISAA
Congratulations to Stella Gougoulias and Tiffany Mo for winning all of their matches, dropping only three games all day.
U14 Boys TENNIS qualified for CISAA and finished 6th overall against some tough competition.
Co-Ed GOLF saw a record-breaking 40 plus students come out to play and some personal bests, including: Sam Hinton ‘26 shot an impressive 76 at Hidden Lake and Reya Kumar ‘29 shot 89 broke 90 - an awesome milestone - for the first time at Cardinal!

CDS sent 11 athletes to Metro Championships this week after qualifying at CISAA:
- Addison Palmer - 2nd in Novice Girls 400m & 3rd in NG 800m
- Anojen Vijeyakumar - 3rd in Novice Boys 800m
- Serina Keshwani - 4th in Junior Girls Discus (NSR of 17.86)
- Nikolai Abramov - 3rd in Senior Boys 100m & 2nd in Senior Boys 200m
- Andy Hamilton - 1st in Senior Boys Pole Vault
- Eamon Sheppard - 1st in both Senior Boys 100m (New School Record of 10.92 - 25-year record broken) & 200m
- Mackenzie Stewart - 2nd in both Senior Girls 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles
- Imo Udom, Alessio Vivona, Anojen Vijeyakumar & Jacob Chan - 3rd in Novice Boys 4x100m relay
- Andy Hamilton, Nikolai Abramov, Parker Emanoilidis & Eamon Sheppard - 3rd in Senior Boys 4x100m relay

MS TRACK & FIELD
Combined with the Junior School, CDS placed 2nd out of 21 teams! The following athletes were top 4 finishers:
- Maia Bvuma finished 1st in U13 Girls Javelin
- Taiki Thacker finished 1st in U13 Boys 200m and Triple Jump and 2nd in 100m
- Manny Qian finished 2nd in U13 Boys 80m hurdles and Triple Jump
- Angelo Sabuneti finished 2nd in U13 Boys Shot Put
- Masson Strgacic finished 3rd in U13 Boys 80m hurdles
- Aarav Kumar finished 3rd in U13 Boys Long Jump
- Darren Cheng finished 4th in U13 Boys 800m
- And the U13 Boys 4x100 relay team finished 4th overall consisting of Aarav Kumar, Wesley Bianchi, Angelo Sabuneti and Taiki Thacker
- Armaan Sidana finished 1st in U14 Boys 80m hurdles and 2nd in 400m
- Ricky Ren finished 3rd in U14 Boys 200m and 4th in 100m
- Colten Stewart finished 4th in U14 Boys 80m hurdles
- And the U14 Boys 4x100m relay team consisting of Myles Whitby, Colton Stewart, Armaan Sidana and Ricky Ren won 1st!
