U14 Boys Soccer: A Statement Win vs. TFS

By Lisa O'Conner
The U14 Boys Soccer team had something to prove on Tuesday afternoon. After a tough loss the week before, the boys came into their game against TFS with one thing on their minds: get into the win column!

And they didn't just get the win… they did it in a big way!
The boys came out firing, playing as a united team and building confidently from the back. They moved the ball well, found their wingers, and created chances all over the field. In fact, five of their goals came from attacks down the wings!
When the final whistle blew, the scoreboard read CDS 10, TFS 5! A huge offensive performance and exactly the response the boys were looking for.

Shoutout to our goal scorers
  • Albie Parkes, Matteo Quinto, and Dane Coosemans each found the back of the net once.
  • Mason Strgacic and Will Lambakis added two goals each.
  • And leading the way with a hat-trick was Francesco Muraca!
  • A special honourable mention goes to Jacob Lucate, who moved into the back line and put in a fantastic defensive performance, shutting down attack after attack coming his way.

Congratulations to the U14 Boys Soccer team on a huge 10–5 win

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
