Thank You To Our Volunteers

By Tracey Scott
This week the Parent Association held our AGM  and Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast where we had an opportunity to recognize all community members who volunteered their time throughout the school year. The time that each and every one of you give through the year is greatly appreciated, and we could not do what we do without your support.
At the AGM the new slate for the 2026-27 Parent Association was presented, with Laura Sgotto-D'Alessio taking over as President. Laura has been a part of the community since 2021 and has three children at CDS. We wish her all the best in this new role.

Call for Grade Parents - As the school year comes to a close, and we look ahead to the new year, we invite all parents interested in serving as a grade parent for the 2026/27 school year to submit their name now. Please reach out to us at volunteer@cds.on.ca to have your name added to the list.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
