    By Denise Steadman
Earlier this week, the Grade 11 Personal Fitness class travelled to Of Rock and Chalk in Newmarket to use their rock climbing gym. Everyone had a great time testing their skills on walls of varying difficulty levels.

We all started on the easier wall, building confidence, then moved straight to the more challenging walls. It was exciting to see classmates encouraging each other and celebrating every successful climb.

The group enjoyed the physical challenge and the sense of accomplishment that came with reaching the top of the walls and ladder. Overall, it was a fun and rewarding experience that left everyone feeling excited to go again!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
