Grade 6 Brock University

By Shaan Boparai
Grade 6 students recently had an unforgettable end-of-year trip to Brock University!

The students got to experience real university life! From lecture halls and labs to staying in dorms, from the walks across the campus and eating like university students, we got a true taste of what it’s like to be a student at a big, beautiful campus. During the day, we took part in actual science classes led by university staff. My favourite moments  were dissecting the brain and owl pellets, lots of others liked the game design, suturing and chemistry classes best.
I also really liked living in the dorm and spending time with my group. One of the biggest highlights for sure was our trip into Niagara Falls where we did the Journey Behind the Falls tour and stopped to see the Whirlpool Rapids. We finished off the night watching some awesome fireworks. It really was a trip to remember and a great way to finish up our time in the Junior School.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
