Sarah Barbanchon

Middle & Senior School Art Teacher
How do you continue learning in your life?
It’s important to embrace mistakes as part of the artistic process, and to be open to observing  and listening to those who do it better. I enjoy participating in projects that challenge me and allow me to collaborate with artistic people.

What is your professional passion?
Designing projects for students that stretch their creativity and make them think. Costume and set design have been a current artistic passion.

What is one of your most memorable teaching moments?
It has been a great pleasure to work with students backstage on productions and share my love of costumes and set design. Watching students get excited about seeing a show come to life and enjoying the creative process as much as I do has been really rewarding.

Favourite Thing about Working at CDS:
Our amazing staff and faculty. We all share an innate desire to provide important opportunities for our students both inside and outside of the classroom.

What is one of your life goals?
Exercise regularly for both my mind and body. I am a better teacher, mother and wife when I take this time for myself.

Outside of CDS I’m … A mom, daughter, auntie, and artist.
