Spring Coffee House - A Night to Remember

Last Thursday, the Senior School students gathered at the Learning Stairs for the 2025 Spring Coffee House. It was a night filled with entertainment, laughter, and community. Students chowed down on delicious snacks and hot drinks while enjoying musical and comedic performances by their peers. There were many returning performers, but many new ones as well.
Not only did the performers and hosts bring their energy and enthusiasm, the crowd did too. If you walked through the halls of the school that night, you would be able to hear them cheering long before you reached the Learning Stairs. The atmosphere made Coffeehouse both a welcoming space and an exciting one to be a part of.

One of the unique things about this Coffee House was the “five things to remember" board. One brave student took on the role of photographer using a polaroid camera. They had five shots to try and capture the best moments of the night, which were then displayed on the whiteboard. It was amazing to see the candid shots from the night as a memory of the time spent together.

One host remarked that it had been one of the best Coffee Houses yet. Both the performers and the crowd brought the energy and made the event as enjoyable as it was. It is only right to say that this year’s Spring Coffeehouse was a night to remember.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
