Don't Miss the Senior School Production of Our Town: March 5th

Join us Saturday, March 5th at 7pm for the YouTube Premier of the Grade 10-12 production of Our Town!

Thornton Wilder’s most frequently performed play appeared on Broadway in 1938 to wide acclaim, and won the Pulitzer Prize. Set in the early 1900s, Our Town tells the story of a small town, Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, in order to tell us the story of every town, the whole world over.
Follow the Gibbs and Webb families, residents of Grover’s Corners, through three acts and 12 years of life changes — from the mundane, to the romantic, to the devastating. This ‘slice of life’ drama immerses the audience into small town life and highlights the importance of community and connection.

A link will be shared closer to the date on socials and in next week's Backpack, or you can always tune in at www.cds.on.ca/live.

Save the date in your calendars and join us virtually for what has become one of the most performed American plays of the twentieth century!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
