Sneaky Art Exhibition in Honour of the 50th

Ms. Kuchmak & the students of Term 1 JS Art Club
This term, for the second year in a row the Art Club chose to do a "Sneaky Art" exhibition. Grades 4-6 club members spent a few weeks creating mini-masterpieces that have now been hidden throughout the Junior School.

This year's theme of artwork was based on CDS turning 50! The Art Club students worked hard to draw and conceptualize different cakes and cupcakes while also connecting them to CDS's four houses.

The "Sneaky Art" exhibition will be on display (hidden) for the next two weeks and all are welcome and encouraged to see if they can find all 50 mini-masterpieces.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
