World Championships Update from Durban, South Africa

The 35th World Individual Debate and Public Speaking Championships (WIDPSC) were held at Clifton School in Durban, South Africa, from March 26 - April 2. This was the first in-person World's tournament in four years.
Over the last week, Millie Steinmann ‘25, Diviya Amarnath ‘25 and Sarah Croxon ’24 were amongst the 108 students from 16 different countries that took part in this prestigious tournament. Millie made finals for Persuasive Speaking, where she placed 12th in the Impromptu Speaking category. Sarah made finals in the Persuasive Speaking category, where she placed 3rd, and Diviya also made finals in the Impromptu Speaking category achieving a top 20 finish.
 
Millie finished in 14th place overall…an outstanding result for a Grade 10 student. All three students finished in the top half of competitors from around the world. Congratulations to all competitors for their hard work and dedication!

Land Acknowledgment
