CDS Athletics Offer Something for Everyone

By Geneva Winterink
By Geneva Winterink

The start of each term is the perfect time to explore a new sport. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or trying a sport for the first time, we encourage interested students to try out for a team. Tryouts for Middle and Senior School teams will run from September 8–11.
  • Monday after school: All Middle and Senior School teams should report to their designated field or court ready to play. Please ensure athletes bring water and wear appropriate footwear.
  • Thursday, September 11: There will be no after-school tryouts for the Senior School due to Junior School Curriculum Night. However, Middle School teams will still have their scheduled morning tryouts that day.
Please see the JS & MS/SS practice schedules for the first two weeks. The full schedule for the remainder of the season will be posted on September 12.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
