Go Cyclones! Senior School Game Day Returns

Back by popular demand, Fall Game Day returned to the Senior School yesterday, bringing together students, staff, alumni, and parents for an afternoon of spirited competition and school pride.

Students were dismissed from class at 2:30 p.m. to cheer on the Cyclones across three home games before heading to their extracurricular activities. The sun came out right on cue, setting the stage for an exciting afternoon. Our teams didn’t disappoint!
Home Game Highlights:
  • Senior Boys’ Soccer defeated St. Andrew’s College 3–2 on Wyndham-West Field
  • Senior Girls’ Soccer dominated Bayview Glen 5–0 on Hawksworth Field
  • Senior Boys’ Volleyball swept Greenwood College School in three straight sets

Meanwhile, our Cyclones were also in action on the road:
  • U15 Girls’ Soccer fell to Havergal College, 4–1
  • Varsity Girls’ Field Hockey lost to Trinity College School, 3–0
  • U16 Boys’ Volleyball defeated Toronto York School, 2–1
  • Senior Girls’ Basketball lost to Hillfield Strathallan School, 42–15
  • U16 Boys’ Soccer fell to Bayview Glen, 5-1

Adding to the energy, the Social Justice Club hosted a bake sale along the sidelines in support of Strides for Seniors, offering delicious treats for a great cause.

Fresh off their UK Soccer trip, our senior teams were thrilled to be back on home turf, cheered on by enthusiastic fans enjoying the crisp autumn sunshine. With Reading Week underway, campus also saw a number of alumni drop by - including older siblings returning to say hello.

Our Winter Game Day will take place in January (date and time to be announced). And fall term playoffs are right around the corner.

Go Cyclones!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
