“Get Ready for Spring” JS Book Fair

The Junior School Library is excited to host a “Get Ready for Spring” Book Fair February 25–27 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with special evening hours on February 26th during Student-Led Conferences.
We are delighted to welcome Blue Heron Books from Uxbridge, who will offer a wonderful selection of fiction, non-fiction, and picture books carefully chosen for our Junior School readers.
Prior to the fair, students will preview the book selection with their classes so they can create a wish list and be ready to shop when purchasing begins on February 25th.
Book prices range from $8 to $35.
- Students: cash only
- Parents/guardians: Visa, Mastercard, or debit (before or after school, or during Thursday evening SLCs and Friday)
Please stay tuned for when your child’s class (Grade 1-6) will be scheduled to purchase books. A flyer will be sent home on Monday with those details.
Land Acknowledgment
The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
