Next Parent Book Review Evening: January 22

Please join us on Monday, January 22nd at 7 PM for the next CDS Parent Book Review!
Whether you are an avid reader, or just looking to curl up on a cold winter evening, we encourage you to join us for this wonderful opportunity to socialize and meet other parents while having a fun and lively in-person discussion led by our Senior School Librarian, Melissa Rutledge.

Our next read is Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano. From the New York Times bestselling author of Dear Edward comes a powerful and engrossing family story that asks: Can love make a broken person whole?

Hello Beautiful, has been named one of the most anticipated books of 2023. This heart-wrenching, emotional family saga will shake you to the core. The three-dimensional, layered characterization, and references to Little Women make it easy to connect with each character as they feel like lifelong friends.

Hello Beautiful is said to be a profoundly moving portrait of what’s possible when we choose to love someone, not in spite of who they are, but because of it.

Please let us know if you will join us on January 22nd!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
