Junior School Student Stars in A Christmas Carol

Grade 5 student Celeste Cartwright is thrilled to be making her professional stage debut in A Christmas Carol where she stars as Little Ebenezer and Tiny Tim Cratchit. The sold-out production opened on December 6 and runs through January 6 at the Campbell House Museum in Toronto.
Celeste discovered her passion for acting and comedy through Second City improv training, where she quickly fell in love with creativity, collaboration, and storytelling. Her previous stage credits include playing Little Anna in The Country Day School’s production of Frozen Jr., and.her film work features a lead role in Family Portraits, a principal role in Dear Ms. Translator (both currently in post-production), and a credited role in Broad Trip (set for release in May 2026).

According to Celeste, she has always loved watching movies, with Frozen Jr. being her favourite, making it especially fun to perform in. Although she was nervous at first, she ended up having a wonderful time and would encourage anyone interested in the dramatic arts to go for it.

"Even if you don’t get the part, you will have a great experience trying!"

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
