It’s hard to believe, but we are beginning to plan for the next academic year already! Please note the following key dates and information:
Tuesday, January 6 to Friday, January 9 - Course Selection Process Visits and Resources: Members of the Student Services and Post-Secondary Counselling teams are currently visiting Grades 8-11 classes to explain the 2026/2027 course selection process.
Classes Visited: Grade 8 Guidance, Grade 9 English, Grade 10 Civics and Careers, and Grade 11 English.
During these visits, students will be shown:
How to access their online Google course selection form.
Form Availability: The Course Selection Form will be available for students to view online in their school email starting Friday, January 9, at 6:00 PM
Thursday, January 8: Grade 8 students heard from the Grade 9 Art, Drama, and Music teachers to assist them in making an informed decision about their Arts elective for Grade 9.
Friday, January 9 as of 6:00 PM - Course Selection Form and Parent Action Items
Form Availability: The Course Selection Form will be available for students to view online in their school email starting Friday, January 9, at 6:00 PM
Parent Support and Required Action: A letter with further details on how to support your child through the course selection process has been distributed via the Files & Forms section of MyCDS.
Action Required: We strongly encourage you to discuss next year's courses with your child. After reviewing the course selection sheet together, please acknowledge receipt of the letter, as this serves as your consent to their course selection form.
Thursday, January 15: Annual Senior School Academic Fair allows students in Grades 9-11 to attend sessions and ask questions of teachers who are currently teaching elective courses.
Friday, January 23 at 10:00 p.m: Course selection forms are due and must be digitally signed by parents.
