Grade 5/6 Public Speaking Competition

The Grade 5 and 6 classes held their in-class speech competitions during the weeks of April 9-17th. The students were encouraged to write their speeches on any topic and ensure they were two minutes in length. Two speakers were chosen to represent their class in The Country Day School semi-final which occurred on April 21, 2015.  This was the fifth annual competition held here at CDS. The speakers and their speeches were as follows:

Samantha Miller – Cleaning your Room

Alex Bobechko – Brainwashing
Chloe McKay - Awesome

These speakers were judged by Mr. Garbe, Mrs. Wildberger, and Miss Belch. The following four categories were used to judge the speeches: Presence While Speaking, Clarity of Speech, Fluency of Speech and Interest of Speech.

Congratulations to Alexie Carogioiello (Grade 5) and Jake McMillan (Grade 6) who placed first in the competition, and to Sophia Carogioiello (Grade 5) and Aiden Liggett (Grade 6) who placed second.

Sophia and Jake will head to Royal St. Georges College on Tuesday, April 28th for the CIS Championship. We wish them good luck!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates.
