The Country Day School now has its own fleet of eight school buses outfitted with three-point seatbelts, and operates seven daily bus routes to and from parts of York, Simcoe and Peel Regions, including as far north as Barrie. We transport more than 150 students daily, and whenever possible, use our own buses for field trips, in addition to the morning and afternoon commuter runs.

2023-2024 Bus Routes

The 2023-24 Bus Service routes have been adjusted and in some cases expanded to offer improved service and to reduce travel times wherever possible. If you are interested in using the CDS Bus Service, please take a moment to review our routes listed in the box below.  Each year, a bus survey is included in the annual forms in May for parents/guardians to complete.  Upon completion this will sign you up for the bus services for the coming school year.  Bus charges are invoiced on your sundry account statement in October/November.  Please note route schedules (including any route changes) were sent to  parents via email on August 22nd.

The bus pricing for the 2023/24 school year is as follows:

Routes 1 - 4 and 6 - 7 are $2,350 for full-time, $1,425 for part-time** and $11 for single ride bus passes.

Route 5 (Midhurst/Barrie/Bradford) is $3,300 for full-time, $2,000 for part-time** and $15 for single ride bus passes.

**Part-time is categorized as 2 - 3 days per week (both morning and afternoon rides) OR AM rides only OR PM rides only (up to a maximum of 6 rides per week)

In the current school year 21% of our school population use our bus services.  Of that percentage 27% are Junior School students.

If you have any questions regarding the service, please contact Admissions or Patricia Redshaw in the Senior School Office at (905) 833-1220 ext. 226 or patricia.redshaw@cds.on.ca.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
