JS Grandparents' Day

Each spring, The Country Day School hosts Junior School Grandparents' Day. This is a special day at the School for staff, students and grandparents alike! Our very special visitors enjoy classroom visits, lunch and a musical performance by the students of the Junior School.

This year's Grandparents' Day is Thursday, May 7th!

** If you have only one classroom to visit, we ask you to consider arriving a little later.


We ask all grandparents to register no later than Thursday, April 16th. Due to limited lunch seating, we may not be able to accommodate reservations after the registration due date.


Concert Information
- JK/SK Concert - 9:00 am: This will be the only concert for JK and SK students. There will be no evening performance.
- Grades 1-6 Concert - 10:45 am: Grandparents with children in both JK/SK & Grade 1-6 groups may attend both concerts.
- Grade 1-6 students will also perform at 6:30 pm for parents/additional guests. The evening performance will be a ticketed event with a maximum of 2 tickets per family.

Please ensure that GRANDPARENT information is reflected in this registration, and that each grandparent household (different home addresses) is registered separately.

All grandparents, whether they are attending lunch or not, need to register. Please note that lunch registration is limited in numbers and will be accepted on a first-come registration basis.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
