CDS Cyclones Have a New Look!

A unified look for The Country Day School Cyclones' sports teams has been a long-held aspiration, as our athletes have worn a mix of dated and newer uniforms across teams over the years.

Now in her second year, CDS Athletic Director Ms. Winterink, working closely with Junior School Athletic Director Ms. Cooper and their colleagues have taken significant steps toward transforming this vision into reality. Their goal extends beyond updating uniforms: it is about ensuring our athletes compete with determination while fostering a deep sense of pride in representing CDS.
Athletics have always been a cornerstone of the CDS experience, building connections across grades, programs, and the wider community. With this in mind, CDS partnered with OneTeam Sports last spring to design brand-new Under Armour uniforms for every team. This initiative represents more than a visual refresh; it reflects the School’s belief in the power of athletics, the dedication of its athletes, and the importance of cultivating school spirit through excellence and pride.

This project was made possible through the support of the Head of School, Administration, and the Business and Community Relations Offices, whose commitment went far beyond approving new equipment. Their decision underscored a broader recognition of the essential role athletics play in student life and the importance of making athletes feel valued and supported within the school community.

As CDS athletes step onto the field, court, or track in their new uniforms this year, they will do so with a renewed sense of pride and belonging. Each jersey and kit not only carries the CDS name but also serves as a powerful symbol of teamwork, sportsmanship, and representing the School with integrity and heart.

Go CDS Cyclones!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
