Auction 2019: Jeans & Jewels

Mark your calendars and save the date for the 46th annual CDS Auction on Friday, May 31st, 2019! Join us for an amazing evening of live and silent auctions with dancing, food, entertainment and more! This year's theme is Jeans and Jewels.
At yesterday’s Auction Launch event, Head of School John Liggett shared that among all CAIS schools, the CDS Annual Auction is one of the most consistently high yielding fundraising events in the country. In recent years, CDS has raised between $235,000 and $255,000 to allocate toward capital projects.

John went on to say that unlike some CAIS schools, 100% of the funds raised at our Auction are allocated toward specific capital projects, rather than supporting tuition or operations.

In a spring 2015 Link article about the history of the CDS Auction, former Board Chair John Mollard said it perfectly, “CDS was the first school in Canada to have an Auction, and we taught everyone else how successful and fun it could be.” That’s a pretty impressive history indeed!

We need the help of the entire CDS community in order to make this event as successful as possible. For those who are interested in volunteering, please do not hesitate to contact us at events@cds.on.ca or (905) 833-3640.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
