MS Debating Outcome from the FDT Grand Finals

Congratulations to Millie Steinmann '25 for placing 2nd in the Junior division of the Fostering Debate Talent Canadian Public Speaking Grand Finals last night and winning a prize of $1000! Ethan Wahba '24 held his own competing in the Senior division (Grades 8-12) and finishing in the Top 10.
Both of them spoke about the COVID-19 quarantine and competed LIVE on Facebook. Thank you to Olivia Railton ‘17, one of our former World public speaking Champions, for serving as one of the judges for this event!
 
Meanwhile last Sunday, all three Middle School students who took part in the Canadian National Junior High Speech tournament in Vancouver via Zoom made it to the finals! Ethan finished just outside the top 10, Sarah Croxon '24 finished in 6th place overall, and Millie beat out all 57 other competitors to finish 1st in Acting and Persuasive making her the official 2020 Canadian Junior Public Speaking Champion!
